# Upgrade Your Server Plan

> Move a FlashRDP Windows RDP or Linux VPS to a bigger plan in the Billing Portal. Pay the prorated difference and the server is resized automatically.

Need more CPU, memory or storage? Move your server to a bigger plan from the [Billing Portal](https://new.flashrdp.com/servers). You keep your data, IP addresses and billing cycle, and pay only the difference for the rest of the current term.

## Upgrade your server

  <Step title="Open the Settings tab">
    Click **Servers**, then your server, then the **Settings** tab. Under **Plan**, click **Upgrade…**.

  <Step title="Choose a plan">
    Each bigger plan shows its CPU, memory and storage (with the increase over your current plan), its price per term and **Due today**, an estimate of what you pay now. Pick one and click **Review upgrade**. Nothing is charged yet.

  <Step title="Review and confirm">
    Compare the **Now** column with the new plan's column (CPU, memory, storage and price) and check **Due today**. The upgrade restarts your server, so save your work, then turn on **I've saved my work and the restart is fine**. Click **Continue to payment**.

  <Step title="Pay the invoice">
    The invoice opens. Pay it with account credit, cryptocurrency or card. See [Invoices, payments and credit](/docs/account/invoices-and-credit). If nothing is due, no invoice is created and the upgrade starts right away.

  <Step title="Wait for the restart">
    Once the invoice is paid, the server is resized and restarts automatically. Allow up to 5 minutes. Storage is never reduced.
  </Step>

  **Due today** already includes any account discount. The invoice shows the exact amount. From the next renewal, the server renews at the new plan's price.

## Good to know

* Only bigger plans are offered. To move to a **smaller plan** or change your **billing cycle**, [open a ticket](https://new.flashrdp.com/support/new).
* Only an active server can change plans.
* While an upgrade invoice is unpaid, the **Settings** tab shows **Plan change waiting for payment** with a **Pay invoice** button. To drop the change, contact support.
* If your server is already on the biggest plan, the portal tells you there is no bigger plan to move to.
