Developer First
Fedora is explicitly tailored for software engineers. Access the newest compilers, containerization tools, system utilities, and modern desktop environments (via VNC) right out of the box without hunting for third-party repos.
KVM Dedicated Resources
Compile massive codebases faster. Your Fedora VPS utilizes true KVM virtualization, meaning your CPU cores are 100% dedicated to your compilation workloads, preventing 'stolen CPU' time.
Always-On DDoS Protection
Keep your development servers and public APIs online. Free Layer 4 DDoS scrubbing mitigates volumetric attacks before they ever reach your Fedora instance, protecting your exposed development ports.
Extreme NVMe Speeds
Read and write data exponentially faster than traditional SSDs. Perfect for heavily fragmented project files, massive `node_modules` folders, and intensive database benchmarking.
Instant Root Access
Take total control over your development environment. Root SSH access is provided instantly upon deployment, letting you configure your Fedora server, tweak network stacks, and modify sysctls immediately.
Answers, not walls of text.
Is Fedora good for software development?
Yes, Fedora is exceptional for software developers. It aggressively adopts new technologies and provides access to the latest compilers, libraries, and container tools faster than almost any other distribution.
Should I use Fedora for a production server?
While Fedora is incredibly stable, its extremely fast release cycle means it reaches end-of-life quicker than LTS distributions (usually 13 months). For long-term production servers, we recommend Debian, Ubuntu LTS, or AlmaLinux.
How frequently is Fedora updated?
Fedora releases a new major version approximately every six months (e.g., Fedora 39, Fedora 40). We regularly update our OS templates to ensure you can deploy the latest Fedora releases instantly from our dashboard.
Ideal Workloads for Fedora VPS
Unmanaged Fedora instances with the raw resources modern applications demand.
Web Hosting & APIs
Host high-traffic Nginx or Apache servers. Perfect for Node.js, Python, or PHP applications requiring raw compute power.
StackIcon Servers
Run MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Redis on enterprise NVMe storage for sub-millisecond query performance.
Docker & Containers
True KVM virtualization with full Docker and Kubernetes support. No nested virtualization penalties.
Game & Voice Servers
Host game or voice servers with our included Layer 4 DDoS mitigation and 1Gbps unmetered bandwidth.
Fedora vs. the alternatives.
Fedora is the upstream source for CentOS Stream. This means Fedora gets the absolute newest features first, making it less stable but much more modern. CentOS Stream is slightly older, acting as the immediate precursor to RHEL.
Choose Fedora if you want the absolute latest packages.
Both are excellent for development. Ubuntu focuses heavily on Debian-based compatibility (`apt`) and long-term support (LTS) releases. Fedora uses `dnf`, updates much faster (every 6 months), and often pioneers new Linux technologies (like systemd and Wayland) before Ubuntu.
Choose Fedora if you prefer the Red Hat ecosystem over Debian.
Who Fedora VPS is built for
Software Engineers
Engineers building the next generation of cloud-native apps need access to the latest compilers (GCC, LLVM) and runtimes without compiling them manually.
Red Hat Ecosystem Devs
Developers who target RHEL environments but want a faster-moving workstation-style OS to develop on natively.
