Fedora vs. the alternatives.
Fedora is the upstream source for CentOS Stream. This means Fedora gets the absolute newest features first, making it less stable but much more modern. CentOS Stream is slightly older, acting as the immediate precursor to RHEL.
Choose Fedora if you want the absolute latest packages.
Both are excellent for development. Ubuntu focuses heavily on Debian-based compatibility (`apt`) and long-term support (LTS) releases. Fedora uses `dnf`, updates much faster (every 6 months), and often pioneers new Linux technologies (like systemd and Wayland) before Ubuntu.
Choose Fedora if you prefer the Red Hat ecosystem over Debian.
